New ORIEL Software Tools

New Software Tools, developed under the ORIEL Project, have been added to the Software section of this website. The tools are organized under the headings: Images; Data Ontologies, Formats; Gene Analysis; Text Tools and Web Services to correspond with the themes of the ORIEL Project. We welcome your feedback and comments as you explore these tools.

 

3rd E-BioSci / ORIEL Annual Workshop, 12 - 15 October 2004, Hinxton, U.K.

The 3rd E-BioSci / ORIEL Annual Workshop, "Tightening the Net: Information Services for Biology", took place from 12 - 15 October 2004 at the Hinxton Hall Conference Centre, Hinxton, UK.

Workshop topics included: web-services for interconnectivity of biological information; information extraction from textontologies and ontology-building; intelligent image retrieval.

BioCreative Workshop, 28 - 31 March 2004

The results are in from the ORIEL-funded BioCreative Workshop (Critical Assessment for Information Extraction in Biology), which was co-organized by partner CSIC-CNB and took place from 28 - 31 March 2004 in Granada Spain. For more information, please visit the BioCreative website.

2nd ORIEL / E-BioSci Annual Workshop, 2-5 September 2003, Varenna, Italy 08 September 2003 The ORIEL / E-BioSci Annual Workshop, "Dealing with the Data Deluge", was held from 2-5 September 2003 at the Villa Monastero in Varenna, Italy. 1st ORIEL / E-BioSci Summer Meeting

21-24 June 2002, Wiesloch, Germany

ORIEL and E-BioSci Project partners and other participants were joined by speakers from Europe and North America for a series of presentations and discussions on the following themes: Ontologies, knowledge representation, data transformation; Database integration; Language processing, text analysis, information retrieval and Image databases and image information retrieval systems.
